On behalf of Wanganui City College it is my privilege to invite all past students of WTC, WBC and WCC to our centenary celebrations in February 2011. The school celebrates the achievements of current and past students. Our current students are very aware of the traditions established a 100 years ago and strive to live up to the ideals.
The school has provided an integral role in the Wanganui community over the last century and we challenge our students to continue this relationship.
The school has undergone many changes since its establishment, and currently the school is in good heart. 2009 saw the opening of the long awaited Wharepuni “Te Manawa” establishing the dual cultural heritage of the school. The carvings on Te Manawa tell the story of the school and pays respect to the foundation pupils right up to the present day. It also honours the various Principals of the school, and those that fought in the wars.
We look forward to seeing our past students and reminiscing on past glories.
